A Heads up for Parents!

Hi Parents!

Below I've provided your children with a link to a program called GeoSpy that will allow them to practice locating the provinces, territories and great lakes on a map of Canada. This program relates directly to what we are studying in Geography and meets the following grade 4 social studies curriculum expectation:

B3.4 identify various types of political regions in Canada

I encourage all of my students to log onto the website and give it a try! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your support!

It's Time to Play a Game!

Hey Students,

Check out this website!

Miss Maggie's GeoSpy

It takes you to a game that relates to our geography unit. It's great way to get to know where the Canadian provinces and territories are on a map!

A Few of my Favourites...

Here are a few of my favourite websites. Check them out and tell me what you think!

Pinterest is a website that I find myself using a lot! It's great for finding ideas about almost anything. I encourage you to use this website to explore your own interests and perhaps even find ideas that you would be interested in incorporating into our classroom--I am open to suggestions!

Twitter is another website I have come to appreciate. Twitter allows you to "follow" and keep up to date with people and organizations that you are interested in. I find myself learning new things from Twitter everyday.

My love for books has resulted in Good Reads becoming one of my favourite websites as well. You can search for any book and it will give you a detailed description of it. The website also recommends books that you may be interested in according to how you rate other books that you have read.

Have you heard of bit.ly?

Hi Students!

Check out the website bit.ly! This website allows you to make a really longgggg URL into a short one! Copy and paste the URL into the bar on the top right-hand side of the page and it'll shorten it for you. Copy the new URL and you're good to go!

Welcome Grade 4s!

Hello everyone,

Let's get ready for a great term! During our time together I will be using this Blog to post information that will be very useful for you over the next couple of months. Remember to visit often to find all sorts of updates and links to important websites!
